How did the American Revolution change the world?

It gave other countries under foreign rule the realization that

·         They didn't have to put up with a monarchy that was not responsive to their wishes.

·         The idea that the common man should have a "voice" or participation in their government. Introduced governmental concept from a monarchy to an oligarchy/democracy.

·         They did not have to live under British rule.

The country that was born from it, the United States of America, has grown to be one of the most powerful nations in the entire history of the world.

Conclusion

In the conclusion, the American Revolution creates lasting change. America became independent and it affected many people’s life and the world.

Many people had fought for their freedom, and some were died in the War, but the Revolution creates a lot of changes in the America and it was very good change. Many people participated in this war, and fought for many reason and helped in different ways. For example women participated by washing and cooking for the soldiers, delivering secret messages and spying on the British.

There are many changes, for example tax got lower and they controlled their country their own. The symbol of America is also changed. The stripes represent the original 13 colonies, and stars represent the 50 states of the Union. Also the colours have meanings, for example white means the Purity and Innocence. They are using this flag (symbol) until today, and it is reminding that the America became independence by many people, and changed America by very hard works.

Also American Revolution gave other countries under foreign rule that the idea that the common man should have a "voice" or participation in their government.

I think the American Revolution created a new society, and the new nation. The America has grown to be one of the most powerful nations in the entire history of the world. It creates a lot of changed and affected many people. This Revolution is very important for many people and many foreign countries.

A good or reliable source

Good Source: http://www.britishbattles.com/american-revolution.htm

Summary: What is it? (100)

This source is from “BritishBattles.com” and this is “British Grenadier Attack”. This source (picture) shows the British Army in the Revolutionary War. The army in North America suffered from a number of incapacitating weakness.

This web site also shows much information about Revolutionary War. There are many different pictures in different direction for example from America and from British.  We can know about Revolutionary War from different direction, so I think this site is very good for researching and thinking about that.

This site has information about different War in the British, and there are information in 1600 to 1900.

Origin: Who produced it? Where is it from?

I could not found who produced it, but this source (picture) is in North America. This web site Designed and maintained by Chalfont Web Design.

Purpose: Why was it written or produced?

It was produced, because I think this person wanted to tell others about how big and how affected to that times people from the American Revolution, and also wanted to show how difficult was it.

Value: What does the source tell us? Is it reliable?

This source tells us how the American Revolution affected people and how big was it, and also how difficult to the British army. For example their army wasn't large enough to occupy enough square miles of territory in North America and the American Spirit, so it was very difficult to retain all thirteen colonies.

Also we can know about Revolutionary War in different direction.

It is reliable source, because it is a photo, and this web site is made by © Britishbattles.com. It is not created by people who are not professional.

Limitations: What doesn't it tell us? What else do we need to know?

We cannot know what the American Revolution is and why people fight from this photo. Also I cannot know how people think about this War and fight for the own country.

Source Analysis

A poor or unreliable source

Summary: What is it? (110 words)

This source is Wikipedia and it tells us what the American Revolution is. This source shows much general information about the American Revolution, for example some acts like tea act, Summary and King George III. Also it has information about three other participants which ware France, Spain, African and also Native American.  There are a picture and maps to make it clearly to understand. There are a lot of bibliographies and it is divided by Reference works, Surveys of the era, specialized studies, and Primary sources. Some bibliography have a phone number, so we can call if it necessary. Also there are dates which can know when it is researched.

Origin: Who produced it? Where is it from?

Wikipedia is produced by many people, so I cannot say who produced it, but last time the page modified on 7 May 2013 at 23:02.

Purpose: Why was it written or produced?

I think this was produced because the people who wrote it wanted to tell the people about the American Revolution, and think about it.

Value: What does the source tell us? Is it reliable?

The source tells us the general information of the American Revolution. Revolution was a political change during the 18th century (1775-83) with thirteen coloniesin North America and British. The United States had been occupied by Nation Americans, so they fought to break from the British Empire, combining to become the United States of America.

I think this source is not reliable, because anyone with the internet access can contribute to write information in Wikipedia and it is not reviewed by experts. The articles would edited by anyone and a person may go on Wikipedia and post an article that is full of false information. So when I use this source, I cared about it.

Limitations: What doesn't it tell us? What else do we need to know?

It did not tell us how that time people thinking about the Revolution, and how they react in detail. Also there is not having interesting facts. This source just written about what happened in the Revolution, and how they react. So it was little bit bored documents.

The Declaration of Independence

This is the original draft document

written by Thomas Jefferson, with additions-deletions

by John Adams and Benjamin Franklin.

In 1776, soon after the beginning of the American Revolutionary war,

the leaders of the war got together to write a letter

to the king of England.

They explained why they were fighting to be their own country,

independent of England.

Also they wrote that all men are created equal,

all men have some rights given to them by god,

and among these rights are life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

They also wrote how the king of England was bad.

For example:

"He sends lots of new government officials that we don't want, and he makes us pay for them."

"He won't let us buy and sell things from wherever we want. We can only buy things from England."

"He makes us pay all kinds of taxes without asking us about it."
